a) Classification and Certification of Products:

“Classification of dangerous goods to be transported internationally” is carried out according to the types of products to be shipped, while ‘certification of dangerous goods’ is carried out in accordance with IATA regulations. In this way, transportation procedures and aircraft selection are determined according to the UN numbers of the dangerous cargo and the hazard class of the material.

Classification and certification in the transportation of dangerous goods by air can be quite complex and dependent on multiple procedures. Situations such as the quantity of the product, hazard class, origin and destination country regulations, transshipment information until it reaches its final destination can change the packaging, labeling and transportation requirements from beginning to end. • Dangerous goods are assessed according to their UN class (for example: flammable liquids - UN 3, toxic substances - UN 6.1).

• MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and DGD (Dangerous Goods Declaration) IATA compliant documents are prepared.

b) Packaging Solutions:

For air transportation, leak-proof and explosion-proof packaging is used. In this process, certified packaging suitable for dangerous goods is used.

c) Labeling and Marking:

Each package is labeled in accordance with IATA standards. Labels that give clear information about the content of the material, mode of transport and hazard class are used.  Sample labels: “Cryogenic Material”, ‘Biohazard’, ‘Handle with Care’.

If the goods are to be shipped to the final destination using a different mode of transport before or after air transport, the appropriate labeling according to the other mode of transport must also be carried out.
